PROFILE

Mr. Sheeraz is a seasoned Mechanical Engineer currently serving as the Director General (Solar) at Private Power and Infrastructure Board. With over 21 years of experience at PPIB, he has played a key role in the development of Pakistan’s renewable energy sector, particularly in advancing utility-scale wind and solar PV projects across the country.

He holds a Master’s degree in Engineering Management and possesses extensive expertise in renewable energy project development, power sector policies, regulatory frameworks, and contracts management of power generation projects. In his current role, he leads initiatives related to utility-scale solar PV projects, as well as distributed solar PV and wind power development, while coordinating with key stakeholders to facilitate implementation of renewable energy projects in line with national priorities.

His professional interests include renewable energy policy, competitive electricity markets, and emerging energy storage technologies, particularly Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
