About CPEC
After transforming the true spirit of friendship between China and Pakistan, both countries entered into China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Framework Agreement in November 2014. The CPEC has been conceived as a lynchpin of the plans by the two countries to deepen their economic cooperation. While keeping in view the cooperation of Chinese government and the resolve of the Government of Pakistan to provide cheap and reliable electricity, several hydel, coal and renewable energy projects were included to give due importance to power generation projects in CPEC in addition to the transmission line projects.
