N.A. Zuberi was appointed Director (Projects) at PPIB in September 1994 and was designated as Executive Director in March 2008. Before joining PPIB he served Planning Commission of Pakistan and National Engineering Services, a prestigious consulting house in Pakistan. Currently he is working as Managing Director of PPIB since 13th March, 2010.

Mr. Zuberi is a position holder in B.Sc. and M.Sc. Electrical Engineering from University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore. He completed Post Graduate Diploma in Information Technology and attended financial and economic analysis course at Harvard, USA.

 

Mr. Zuberi heads Project Section and has developed a team of technical professionals who are fully capable of handling day-to-day issues pertaining to private power projects.

 

Mr. Zuberi has played a leading role in the implementation of private power policies announced by GOP i.e. Power Policy 1994, Hydel Policy 1995 and Power Policy 1998.  He actively participated in negotiations of the Implementation Agreement with various private power companies and is fully responsible on the technical, financial, commercial and legal matters related to private power projects in Pakistan. He is fully responsible for the review and appraisal of all private power projects.

 

Mr. Zuberi was actively involved in the formulation of the Policy for Power Generation 2002 and made valuable contribution in various marathon meetings and workshops arranged by GOP to discuss issues related to Power Policy.

 

Mr. Zuberi played a pivotal role in preparing in-house report some of which are:

 

  • Pakistan - Bangladesh Tariff Comparison,

  • Guidelines for acknowledging financial closing for private power projects

  • Conversion of IPPs from RFO to Gas

  • Database for Hydel potential of Pakistan

  •  Report on Options for Additional Generation in Pakistan

  •  General Guidelines for review of Annual reports

  •  Conceptual paper on Utilization of Coal in Pakistan

  •  Furnace Oil price variation impact on IPPs tariff

  •  Electricity pricing of Hydropower projects in Pakistan
